Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our audio separation service.

Service Usage

What is Audio Splitter?

Audio Splitter is an AI-powered service that separates music into individual components. Upload an audio file and get isolated tracks for vocals, bass, drums, and other instruments with professional-quality results.

Is the service free to use?

We offer both free and premium options. New users receive free credits to try our service. For regular use and additional features, premium plans are available with more credits and advanced processing options.

What audio formats are supported?

We support the most common audio formats including MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, AAC, and OGG. For best results, we recommend using high-quality formats like WAV or FLAC. The maximum file size is 100MB per upload.

How long does processing take?

Processing time depends on the length and complexity of your audio file. Most songs under 5 minutes are processed within 1-3 minutes. Longer tracks may take up to 10 minutes. You'll see real-time progress updates during processing.

Privacy & Security

How are my files handled?

Your privacy is our top priority. All uploaded audio files are processed securely and automatically deleted from our servers immediately after processing is complete. We never store, share, or use your music for any other purpose.

What data do you collect?

We collect minimal data necessary for service operation: uploaded audio files (temporarily), processing logs, and basic usage statistics. No personal information is required for basic usage. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.

Is my music safe?

Yes, absolutely. All file transfers use SSL encryption, processing happens in secure environments, and files are automatically purged after processing. Your original music and separated tracks are only accessible to you during your session.

Quality & Results

How accurate is the separation?

Our AI uses state-of-the-art deep learning models trained on professional recordings. While results vary depending on the original mix and instrumentation, most users find the quality suitable for karaoke, remixing, and music production purposes.

What affects separation quality?

The best results come from well-mixed stereo recordings with clear instrument separation. Heavily compressed audio, mono recordings, or tracks with extensive effects may produce less clean separations. Higher quality input files generally yield better results.

Can I get perfect instrumental tracks?

While our AI is highly advanced, perfect separation isn't always possible due to the complex nature of mixed audio. You may notice some vocal "bleeding" in instrumental tracks or vice versa. The technology continues to improve with regular model updates.

Technical Support

Why did my upload fail?

Common causes include: file too large (over 100MB), unsupported format, corrupted file, or network issues. Try converting to MP3 or WAV format, reducing file size, or checking your internet connection.

Can I use this for commercial purposes?

You can use our service for personal and commercial projects, but you're responsible for ensuring you have the rights to the original audio. We don't grant any copyright permissions - you must own or have permission to use the source material.
